As we had anticipated, thousands of visitors gathered this year to celebrate the first night of Mardi Gras.

At the tune of New Orleans traditional music, and among thousands of people fighting to catch the flying beads, we observed the always colorful parade that strolled through the streets of universal Studios (now transformed into the French Quarter) displaying great dancers, traditional parade floats and authentic New Orleans musicians, which truly gave us the spirit of New Orleans.

The Cajun food served at the French Quarter section was great and the magnificent night was completed by the vibrant performance of Bret Michaels of Poison which is the first of a series of concerts that will take place during this festival.

We also had the opportunity to experience Universal Studios Orlando’s newest attraction Disaster and left very impressed with the new technology displayed at the beginning of the ride, in which you get to observe a  3 dimensional integration of a character, interacting with live staff; very impressive and definitely a "must see".

We definitely recommend you to visit this great festival, which is appropriate for the entire family.
