I was thinking about arriving earlier than what was planned. How do I put in for that night and I checked the calendar for the resort and that day is available? Please let me know asap.

You can always add extra nights before arrival providing they are available. Once you have arrived it is not possible to add extra nights at the promotional rate, in which case you would have to purchase the additional night at the resort.
